Delgado Smacks 3 Out of the Park
Wednesday, September 17th , 2031
South Alabama Jaguars first baseman Juan Delgado had a magnificent game against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles today, rocketing three balls out of Eddie Stanky Field to help the Jaguars take the 8-3 victory.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Delgado went 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," South Alabama manager Ronald Klein said later. "Seems like Juan found his home run stroke today."
Juan Delgado hit a two-run home run off Milton Langley in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Manuel Cisneros in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Javier RamÃrez in the 7th.
Looking at his present stats, Delgado has compiled a .297 batting average in 142 games with a .355 on-base percentage, while hitting 20 home runs and driving in 86 runs.
