Western Conference Missouri Valley Champs Crowned: Southern Illinois Salukis Monday, September 8th , 2031 Let loose, Southern Illinois fans, your team has won the Western Conference Missouri Valley. The Southern Illinois Salukis have officially captured the crown, the 3rd in franchise history. "We've got a team that can do it all and we think do it just as well as anyone in the league," said center fielder Joe Drake. "I hope no one is taking us lightly once the playoffs start." Certainly the team's division crown will garner them a fair bit of respect, as the 78-55 record puts the club in position for the franchise's 1st College Baseball championship. "You never get tired of being in the playoffs," said manager Ryan Klesko. "This is what you play for." |
