Georgia Southern third baseman Rhett Vallis thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Georgia Southern to a 11-10 win over Albany. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Vallis said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Vallis was 3-for-5 on the day with 5 RBI. Rhett Vallis hit a solo-shot off Tony Quintana in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Tony Quintana in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Michael de Bode in the 7th, struck out in the 9th and walked in a run in the 10th. This year Vallis is hitting .342 with 46 home runs and 124 RBIs in 110 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .441 with 73 walks and 110 runs scored. |
