Bernard Launches 3 HR for Sun Devils Tuesday, September 2nd , 2031 Juan Bernard brutalized the Northwestern State Demons pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 11-3 victory at H. Alvin BrownC. C. Stroud Field. The Arizona State Sun Devils first baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 3-for-4 with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Too much Juan Bernard today," Demons manager Tom Payne said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Juan Bernard grounded out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off António Madrid in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Orlando Vanegas in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Orlando Vanegas in the 6th. Thus far this year Bernard has hit .303 with 31 home runs and 82 RBIs. |
