Bang-up Game: Catron Slams 3 Homers Monday, September 1st , 2031 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Memphis Tigers today. Albany first baseman Richard Catron tripled up on the home runs to propel the Great Danes to the 10-1 win at FedExPark. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Memphis manager Vincente López said. "Catron hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Catron collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Richard Catron hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Hadde van Sundert in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Emílio Fernández in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Pedro Grafals in the 9th. On the year Catron is hitting .375 with 157 hits, 36 home runs, 101 RBIs, .446 OBP and has scored 84 runs. |
