Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Dan Clark can celebrate.

The San Jose State Spartans third baseman powered three into the stands at San Jose Municipal Stadium today against the McNeese State Cowboys.

"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Clark told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."

In all, he was 3-for-4 as the Spartans toppled McNeese State by a score of 13-1, knocking in 8 runs and scoring 3 times.

"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," San Jose State manager Roy Burns said. "He gets the ball up in the air."

Dan Clark hit a three-run home run off Ralph Ward in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Félix Rodríguez in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Enrique Silva in the 8th.

So far this season Clark is batting .337 with 34 home runs, 102 RBIs and 86 runs scored. He has 129 hits in 383 at-bats, 36 walks and a .396 OBP. Clark has played in 118 games.
