Willis Hits 3 Homers Against Georgia Southern Saturday, August 16th , 2031 It was a good day for the Stony Brook Seawolves and an exceptional one for Stan Willis. The 18-year-old right fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Seawolves beat the Georgia Southern Eagles 17-4 at Joe Nathan Field. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Willis said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 5 times, drove in 8 runs and smacked 4 hits in 4 at-bats. Stan Willis hit a two-run home run off Jesús Navarro in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Bob Cragg in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Alberto Reyes in the 6th and walked in the 8th. This year Willis has batted at a .355 pace with 49 hits, 15 home runs, 44 RBIs and scored 31 times. |
