López Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Sunday, August 3rd , 2031 It was a parade of hits for Bill López of the Pepperdine Waves at Jackie Robinson Stadium today. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, López finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Waves to a 14-8 victory. "López was really good and we were really bad," groaned Bruins manager Willie Skinner. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Bill López hit a two-run home run off Dwight van der Esch in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Héctor Parra in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
