Curt Pope Injured, Out for Year

Curt Pope has to call it a season. The Clemson Tigers starting pitcher sustained a season-ending injury against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Pope was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and stated that he would not be able to play for 9 months.
This season to date Pope has a record of 5 wins and 4 losses with a 3.76 ERA, has appeared in 14 games and struck out 61 in 79 innings.
