Allen Hitless, Streak Ends at 28 Friday, June 27th , 2031 The hitting streak that Central Florida first baseman Jacob Allen had kept going for 28 games was ended today by the Cincinnati Bearcats. Allen was stymied over 2 at-bats today, but the rest of his team picked him up, taking the 4-3 victory at Jay Bergman Field. "Hitting streaks come and go," Allen said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." Thus far this year Allen is batting .364 with 22 home runs, 48 RBIs and 51 runs scored. |
