Franco on a Tear, Hits for Cycle Sunday, May 11th , 2031 Juan Franco accomplished one of the rarer feats in baseball today when he hit for the cycle against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the 8-2 Villanova Wildcats win at Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth. Afterward, Franco acknowledged that his accomplishment was special, but said he was more interested in helping the Wildcats win. "Maybe one day I'll look back on this with more meaning, but right now I just want to go out tomorrow and put some good swings on the ball and help my club win another game," Franco said. On his historic day, he went 4-for-4 with 2 runs batted in and 2 runs scored -- and also got a spot in the history books. Juan Franco doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Gary Gray in the 7th. Thus far this year Franco is batting .337 with 6 home runs, 16 RBIs and 18 runs scored. View Boxscore |
