International League Announces Top Starter Monday, August 1st , 2005 The #1 pitcher this past month in the International League was Joe Mays of the Indianapolis Indians. He worked the hitters over real good, finishing July with a superb 6-0 record and a 3.51 ERA. The Indians star made 6 starts and surrendered 38 hits in 41 innings. He struck out 26 and walked 10. In 18 starts this season, Mays has rung up a 15-3 record and a 2.93 ERA. |
