Smashing Success: Dupond Wallops 3 HR Tuesday, August 3rd , 2032 Howard Dupond of the Weequahic Seabees had a lot to celebrate in today's 10-7 win over the Newtown Juicers after pounding a trio of home runs at South End Stadium. "I'm just closing my eyes and swinging as hard as I can," he joked with reporters after the game. "It worked well today." The powerful Weequahic first baseman tagged 4 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 4 runs and scored 4 times in his three-homer outburst. "We talked about changing our strategy for the third one, and then he went and hit another homer," Newtown manager Randall Simon said. "We just couldn't get him out." Howard Dupond hit a solo-shot off Joaquín Berroa in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jung-wan So in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Shane Bieber in the 9th. So far this season Dupond is hitting .254 with 25 home runs. |
