Smashing Success: Miller Wallops 3 HR Saturday, June 19th , 2032 Cedric Miller went on an explosive hitting spree against the Mystic Belugas at 420 Park today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Carmel Scoobys to the 21-4 win. The left fielder finished 4-for-6 with 3 runs scored and 8 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Miller said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Mystic skipper Ken Turner said Miller was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Cedric Miller hit a three-run home run off António Ruíz in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Ernesto Banda in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Mauro Gonzáles in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. This year Miller is batting .297 with 19 home runs. He has scored 47 runs and driven in 49. |
