Nied League's Best Batter Announced Monday, September 23rd , 2024 A battle-tested John Smith declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 33-year-old D.C. shortstop collected the Nied League Player of the Week Award. He wrapped up the week with a .667 average, 12 hits in 18 at-bats, 3 home runs, 7 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
