Esquivel Belts 5 Hits Saturday, August 3rd , 2024 Even as a kid, Alberto Esquivel said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Einert's Field today, Esquivel showed how well he learned that lesson. The 26-year-old center fielder had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the McCleary Sasquatch, helping his team knock off the Winnipeg Goldeyes by a score of 10-4. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Alberto Esquivel hit a two-run home run off Rafael Calderón in the 1st, hit a three-run triple in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
