Cumberland Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
The Cumberland Copperheads faced a tough opponent in Austin pitcher Rick Meagher, but did just enough to pull out the victory at John Lee Pettimore Field by a final score of 4-3. Meagher went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The win belongs to Roger Taylor in relief. His record improves to 6-4. Bobby McBryde took the loss for Austin. The victory gives the Copperheads a record of 74-62.

Cumberland won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With two outs and Bobby McBryde on the mound for Austin, left fielder Donald Leadbetter hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Copperheads fans to their feet.

"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant David Eckstein, the Cumberland manager.
