Victory Over Cosmos Takes Austin to 34-14
The Austin BigStars defeated the Stratford Cosmos, 7-2, at Googleplex. Austin center fielder Jesús Rodríguez had a superb performance. He went 3-4 with 2 doubles. He scored 3 runs. Rick Cederberg, the winner, goes to 3-3. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts over 5.2 innings. Austin now has a 3-game win streak.

With Austin leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Rodríguez came up to bat against Stratford pitcher Bernard Jacobs. Rodríguez hit a fastball to right for a run-scoring double. His 17th double of the season put the BigStars on top, 3-1.
