The Stratford Cosmos tallied a win at Roberto Clemente Park, throttling the Puerto Rico Tropics, 6-1. Starting pitcher Bernard Jacobs was a big reason for his team's success. The Cosmos, now 19-9, have been playing some good baseball.

It could have been a different outcome for Stratford, had it not been for Bob Letson, the 24-year old left fielder . Letson contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Stratford up, 3-0.

"We had a nice day," said Stratford skipper George Brandt.
