Cowboys Prevail, as College Divisional Round 2 Goes to the Wire
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Goodwin Field as the College Divisional Round 2 stretched to the final game.

It was the Oklahoma State Cowboys feeling the thrill of victory, with a 4-2 win over the Cal State Fullerton Titans, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the College League Championship.

"There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Cal State Fullerton manager Gary Goodwin. "Congratulations to Oklahoma State, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight."

Instrumental in the 3-2 series win was left fielder Gunnar Reed, who was named MVP. He hit .409 with a .458 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs.

"We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys will play against the San Jose State Spartans in the next round. San Jose State won their series against the Sam Houston State Bearkats 3 games to 2. The College League Championship schedule will be announced after the College Divisional Round 2 finishes.
